The D-Day festival, an institution
The famous landing beaches of the Battle of Normandy are a symbol of peace that we never tire of revisiting.
Each of the five beaches is recognized as a place steeped in history and imprint, where our ancestors who died in battle left a trace of their existence.
Every year, the Normandy D-Day festival invites you to celebrate D-Day anniversary on the beaches and reinforce the duty of memory around a program rich in activities and emotions.
You can attend military parades, discover reproductions of camps or even admire the parachute drops on the beach. Since 2007, a real tribute has been organized for the memory of the soldiers who were part of the most secret operation of the Second World War.
De end of May until beginning of June, locals and tourists come together to celebrate peace and remember this part of history that brings us together.

Military parade
In the streets of Ouistreham Riva-Bella, the soldiers put on their finest combat gear to celebrate peace with you. Tanks, armored vehicles and 4X4s will parade before your eyes in single file to the sound of glorious music.
D-Day Ladies in concert
Do you like 40s jazz and its swing air? the D-Day Ladies trio arrives at Ouistreham Riva-Bella for a unique outdoor performance on the beach! A real musical show featuring Gwladys, Anita, Véronique and their troupe of musicians for a playful concert.
Historical re-enactments and exhibits at the Hillman site
On the occasion of the D-Day anniversary, this former command post located near Ouistreham opens for free its doors. It invites you to return to the past in 1944 through stagings of military equipment and various exhibitions on these 24ha.

There are no specific dates for fulfilling one's duty to remember. So come and meditate and fill up on the emotions on the famous landing beaches at your leisure and at your own pace. On site, explanatory panels are at your disposal and make your visit fun.
You will appreciate the calm of the place but also the beauty of the landscape by the sea. Dragon's teeth, bunkers and statues are now an integral part of the landscape of our Normandy coasts and have become essential in our shore to landing.
