The Little Train of Ouistreham: a new way to discover the resort

 

A major new feature for summer 2026, the Ouistreham Riva-Bella Little Train invites you to discover the seaside resort in a new way. Departing from the Esplanade Alexandre Lofi, this narrated tour takes you through Ouistreham's iconic districts: the beach, the town center, the port, the lighthouse, the Belle Époque villas, the maritime station, and the fish market.

Throughout the journey, Joanne, your driver and guide, enthusiastically shares anecdotes, local history and little curiosities that make the visit as friendly as it is enriching.

An ideal activity to discover Ouistreham with your family, either upon arrival or during a stay at Villa Andry.

Vedettes Caennaises now offers narrated cruises between Caen and the sea.

Departing from the ports of Ouistreham, Caen, the Colombelles bridge, or Bénouville, this experience offers a unique way to discover the canal, its history, and its landscapes in a peaceful and original setting. It also includes trips out to sea to explore the D-Day Landing Beaches or the Côte Fleurie (Flowered Coast).

The Caen BMX Indoor is one of Europe's largest events dedicated to urban sports. For two days, international riders, spectacular demonstrations, and top-level competitions transform the Caen Exhibition Center into a true temple of BMX, skateboarding, and urban culture.

"Tous en scène" Festival – March 20 and 21, 2026 – Ouistreham

The FitClub Ouistreham is organizing a HYROX race simulation on Sunday, April 12, 2026.This event will allow participants to experience the real conditions of this discipline, which combines running and functional exercises.

Tattoo convention in Ouistreham – May 23 and 24, 2026

A new tattoo convention will arrive in Ouistreham on May 23 and 24, 2026.This Tattoo Convention will bring together several tattoo artists, exhibitors and tattoo enthusiasts for a weekend dedicated to body art and creativity.

Although the detailed program will be announced soon, visitors can generally expect artist booths, live tattoo demonstrations, and entertainment throughout the event. It's a great opportunity to discover the work of numerous tattoo artists and share a friendly moment on the Normandy coast.

Normandy Channel Race – May 27 to June 7, 2026 – Caen & Ouistreham

A leading offshore sailing race, the Normandy Channel Race connects Caen, Ouistreham, and the English and Irish coasts. The start and finish offer a unique maritime spectacle, particularly in the port of Ouistreham.
A major nautical event, it is very popular with sailing enthusiasts and curious visitors alike.

Race starts on Sunday, May 31, 2026 off the Ouistreham lighthouse, race village and crew presentation at the port of Caen from May 27.

Freedom Marathon – Caen – Sunday, June 7, 2026

The Freedom Marathon is one of Normandy's most iconic sporting events. The various races traverse the historic D-Day landing sites, blending athletic performance with remembrance.
A major international event, it attracts runners from all over the world every year. Bib registration opens Monday, March 2, 2026.

D-Day Festival Normandy – June 1st to 14th, 2026

The D-Day Festival Normandy commemorates the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944, through official ceremonies, concerts, parachute drops, and cultural events. Events are organized on all the landing beaches, from Pointe du Hoc, Sainte-Mère-Église, Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, and Ouistreham, with Sword Beach at the heart of these commemorations, offering moments of emotion and historical reflection.

D-Day Commemoration – June 6

Several commemorations are being held on D-Day, June 6th, in Ouistreham, the surrounding towns, and throughout Normandy; detailed programs will follow. Music Festival – June 21, 2026

Summer will kick off with music in Ouistreham with a new edition of the Fête de la Musique. Throughout the afternoon and evening, several stages and events will bring the town centre and port to life.

The Esplanade Lofi will host musical entertainment from 3 pm to 6 pm, followed by a concert at the port from 6 pm to 8 pm. The evening will continue with Les Méduses, a Pop-Rock group well-known to the residents of Ouistreham, who will perform from 9 pm to 11 pm on the Esplanade Lofi.

A convivial summer evening not to be missed to celebrate the arrival of summer on the Côte de Nacre.

Beauregard Festival – July 2-7, 2026 – Hérouville-Saint-Clair

The Beauregard Festival is one of Normandy's largest music festivals. Every summer, it welcomes French and international artists to the exceptional setting of the Beauregard Castle grounds. This unique setting provides the perfect backdrop for an lineup this year, featuring Aya Nakamura and Bob Sinclar for "The Day Before," followed by Orelsan, Pulp, La Mano 1.9, Theodora, Feu! Tortuga Bella – The Pirate Festival – August 8 and 9, 2026

For one weekend, Ouistreham Riva-Bella transforms into a veritable pirate haven! With Tortuga Bella, the seaside resort plunges into the world of piracy through an entertainment village, shows, pirate battles, costumed parades, workshops for children and many surprises.

TuXedo concert & fireworks – August 15, 2026

On August 15th, the Place du Général de Gaulle hosts a grand musical evening before the traditional Ouistreham fireworks display.

Starting at 9 p.m., the Norman band TuXedo, composed of six musicians, will energetically revisit the greatest classics of pop, funk, soul, and rock. From Aretha Franklin to Bruno Mars, by way of Dua Lipa and The Weeknd, their repertoire promises a festive and danceable evening. Lost at Sea & Sailors' Festival – August 16

The Ducal Festivals of Ornavik – From August 13 to 15, 2026

Cider & Dragon Festival – September 19 & 20, 2026 – Merville-Franceville-Plage

Immerse yourself in the medieval and fantastical world of the Cidre & Dragon festival, a unique event in Normandy where the charming seaside resort of Merville-Franceville-Plage transforms into a vibrant, imaginary city brimming with life and entertainment. For two days, this fantasy festival invites festival-goers, families, and enthusiasts to wander the streets of Merravilla, discover artisans, costumed entertainment, games, music, and shows in a friendly and free atmosphere by the sea.

Scallop and Seafood Festival in Ouistreham – October 17 and 18, 2026

The Scallop and Seafood Festival takes place every year on the first weekend of the school holidays. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can stroll through the fish market to buy the famous scallops, as well as various other fish and shellfish. The traditional SNSM (French Sea Rescue Society) tent will be offering its scallop skewers. The town has planned a full program of activities for the whole family, including a concert, a market, and each restaurant will be offering a special scallop menu. The complete program will follow.
