Green Key Label 2024

What is the Green Key Label?

Green Key logo, symbol of the establishment's ecological commitment.

Present on five continents, the Green Key tourism ecolabel is the first international sustainable tourism label for tourist accommodations and restaurants.

THE PLEASURE OF EXPERIENCING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Choosing a Green Key does not mean giving up comfort or pleasure, quite the contrary! They offer a more natural and healthier living environment, raise awareness among holidaymakers and invite those who wish to get involved on their own scale for more responsible travel and more ecological holidays.

RESPECT FOR THE TERRITORY

The criteria of the Green Key require respect for people and nature, in particular through control of energy and water consumption, environmental management of waste, leisure activities that do not harm nature, and promotion of the actors and natural assets of the territory.

AT THE SAME PRICE

The Green Key does not imply higher prices! It is aimed at all categories and all types of restaurants and accommodation: campsites or nature cottages, eco-hotels, youth hostels or responsible bed and breakfasts, tourist residences or sustainable holiday villages.

Villa Andry was awarded the Green Key label for the first time in 2024, among 1564 establishments in France

We are proud of all the work accomplished since our arrival in 2017. We are committed to transforming and managing our establishment in accordance with our vision of environmental and social responsibility. Today, all our actions are recognized by the Teragir organization, and we are pleased to continue our efforts to address the challenges of tomorrow. We aim to rethink the philosophy of tourism without altering its very essence.

This label recognizes our commitments to sustainable development, such as:

  • Raising awareness among our clients about the surrounding flora and fauna, offering outings using soft mobility;
  • Implementing sustainable solutions in our garden with plants that require little water, insect hotels, a flowering meadow in spring/summer for pollinators to promote biodiversity;
  • We source the vast majority of our food products from local, organic, and artisanal producers, and we use eco-labeled cleaning products. Whenever possible, our furniture is restored by us or replaced with French/EU-made products
  • Energy management: our consumption (electricity, gas and water) has decreased by 45% since 2019. All electric radiators have been replaced with inertia radiators. All light bulbs have been replaced with LED bulbs. Our staff is trained in energy management
  • Water management: consumption is closely monitored. Aerators and water-saving showerheads have been installed throughout the facility. As part of the bathroom renovations, we are gradually replacing toilets, showers, and sinks. A rainwater harvesting tank for watering the grounds has been installed. Towels are replaced upon request to reduce the amount of laundry required
  • Waste is managed through systematic sorting by our staff. Recycling bins are also available for guests on the first floor of the building. A compost bin for internal use is located in the garden.
  • Our anti-waste policy: For years now, we have implemented an individual ordering system for bread and pastries for breakfasts;
  • We support a local association by making our premises available to them free of charge (L'échiquier de l'Hippocampe) or by participating in collection actions (Les bouchons du Coeur);
  • The upcoming installation of 5 electric charging stations will allow our customers to recharge their vehicles with complete peace of mind;
  • And many others.

Other projects are in the works, we will be happy to tell you about them.

All your constructive and kind suggestions are welcome, please write to us at contact@villa-andry.fr

We look forward to welcoming you,

Melinda and Julien
