The Maritime Velocity®
Pays d'Auge section, between the seaside and green meadows
Over nearly 1,500 km, this route from the English Channel to the North Sea takes you on a journey along the coast to discover unforgettable coastal landscapes.
Your ride will take place mainly along the sea, following the coastline on a continuous route. Small roads and greenways, with some slight inclines, await you along the way. You'll also catch glimpses of must-see tourist sites such as Mont-Saint-Michel, the cliffs of Étretat, and even Cap Fréhel.
On this section, explore the Côte Fleurie and its surrounding countryside, teeming with activities such as castles, parks, museums… Take this route and get away from the beaten track and the coast, discovering the Normandy countryside and its many picturesque little villages.
Choose this route to travel with the sea air in your hair. The Vélomaritime is part of the EuroVelo 4 route, the vast network of European cycle routes.
The Maritime Velocity®
From Courseulles-sur-Mer to Houlgate, explore the seafront!
Along this section of the Vélomaritime cycle route, you'll find numerous small roads and greenways with some gentle slopes, offering views mainly of the sea and our magnificent D-Day landing beaches. Cycle through the coastal towns, such as Courseulles-sur-Mer, Ouistreham, and Cabourg.
Immerse yourself in the different stories that its beaches have to tell you and visit many monuments along the way!

A trip from Caen to Ouistreham by bike?
The new feature of the Twisto network
Travel by bike from Caen to Ouistreham with complete peace of mind, thanks to the Vélolib system!
There are 230 bicycles available across 22 stations, including one in Ouistreham, 200m from Villa Andry, for €1 per hour. You can pay directly at the terminal by credit card!
You will simply need to bring your Vélolib to one of the different stations at the end of each day.
